Artist Statement

01

My work emerges at the meeting point of body–mind awareness, ritual practice, and ancient mythology.

Rooted in the stories and symbolism of Persian Zoroastrian culture, my art creates a living bridge between ancestral knowledge and contemporary embodied experience. Through movement, somatic exploration, and sensory ritual, I translate an ancient philosophy into a universal human language that people can feel.

A contemporary artwork grounded in Zoroastrian stories and rituals, expressed through embodied and somatic language, becomes a bridge: it preserves an ancient culture, transforms it into a shared human experience, and invites people outside the community to encounter the philosophy through sensation as well as understanding.

Most people outside Iran or the diaspora know little about Zoroastrianism but they understand movement, breath, gesture, emotional expression, and the body as a storyteller. By translating Zoroastrian symbols into embodied metaphors, I invite audiences to experience the culture from the inside. A performance exploring Asha and Druj becomes a meditation on conflict, trauma, and healing.

03 / SENSATION

This is how culture becomes alive as history and sensation.

CULTURAL MEMORY

Understanding
human essence.

01

Diaspora communities often ask: How do we keep our culture alive? I think I can respond by my works: honoring tradition, avoiding rigid literalism, creating relevance for younger generations and opening the culture to non-Persians through shared human experience. I believe that Today’s audiences are drawn to somatic healing, body-based storytelling, ritual as performance, and myth as psychological metaphor.

02

Zoroastrian narratives, creation, purification, light and darkness, resilience, resonate deeply with global conversations about trauma, identity, migration, and spiritual grounding. My work speaks to immigrants, survivors, seekers, and artists exploring the complexity of belonging.

03

This is my ongoing journey toward understanding human essence. Theatre, dance, somatic movement, manual physical therapy, osteopathy, and Persian heritage allow me to move fluidly between ritual knowledge, embodied research, and creative expression. I understand the culture and the body from a therapeutic perspective, and performance from an artistic one. This combination shapes a practice that is deeply integrative for me.

05 / MY ARTISTIC PATH

The true
connection.

01

When I was younger, I believed that dancing or writing in simple contemporary language were the best ways to protect my heritage and share the ancient Persian stories with the world. Over time, I discovered something more powerful: the true connection happens when embodied practice, cultural memory, and mythic storytelling come together.

A LIVING PULSE

The living pulse
of this ancient culture.

02

Through movement, somatic inquiry, and symbolic imagery, I create pathways for people of all backgrounds to experience the living pulse of this ancient culture.

My work is an invitation to meet the purity of nature through the body, through presence, and through the universal language of human expression.
