Tishtrya, is one of the most luminous and life-giving beings in Zoroastrian cosmology. Identified with the star Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. Tishtrya embodies the forces of rain, fertility, and renewal. He is the celestial guardian who ensures that water reaches the earth, crops grow, and the natural world remains balanced. In mythic tradition, Tishtrya appears in three forms: a radiant youth, a white stallion, and a shining star. 

Each form reflects a different aspect of his power. Tishtrya represents hope during drought, protection during hardship, and the promise that life will continue even after periods of darkness.

The most famous story of Tishtrya is his battle with Apaosha, the demon of drought. When Apaosha rises to block the rains and bring suffering to the world, Tishtrya charges into the cosmic waters to fight him. At first, Tishtrya is weakened. Because humans have forgotten to honor him. Only when people remember him, call his name, and offer devotion does he regain his power. Strengthened by human faith, he defeats Apaosha and releases the rains that nourish the earth.
